ITINERARY

Day 1: Exploring Northern Thailand, Doi Inthanon & A Night Under the Stars

8:00 - 8:30 AM – Hotel Pick-Up

Pick up from your Chiang Mai city hotel (if you’re staying outside the city, please mention this in the booking details as additional charges may apply).

8:30 - 10:30 AM – Scenic Drive to Doi Inthanon

Take in the lush countryside views as we journey toward Doi Inthanon, Thailand’s highest mountain!

10:30 - 12:00 PM – Pha Dok Sieo Nature Trail

Embark on a guided hike through the rich biodiversity of Doi Inthanon. The Pha Dok Sieo Nature Trail showcases some of Thailand’s most vibrant landscapes, with sweeping rice terraces, cascading waterfalls, and breathtaking mountain scenery.

12:00 - 1:00 PM – Lunch

Refuel after the hike with a delicious lunch and coffee break, in a local Karen restaurant next to the nature trail.

1:00 - 2:00 PM – Explore King and Queen Pagodas

We continue our journey up to the famous King and Queen Pagodas, located atop Doi Inthanon. Wander around the beautiful pagodas and enjoy the unique architecture and panoramic views!

2:00 - 2:45 PM – Explore the Peak of Doi Inthanon

Time to head to the highest point in Thailand - enjoy the cool, serene summit of Doi Inthanon and experience the beauty of the mountaintop.

2:45 - 4:15 PM – Travel to the Accommodation

Sit back and relax during the scenic drive to our accomodation, located deep in the Northern Thai jungle. The first part of the journey is in the van, then we will get into the back of the pickup truck which will take us deep into the jungle.

4:15 - 5:45 PM – Check-In and Relax

Settle into your accommodation for the evening and enjoy some time to relax and enjoy the picturesque views before dinner time!

5:45 / 6:00 PM – Dinner & Campfire

Enjoy a traditional Northern Thai dinner, prepared by local chefs, then end your day by the warmth of the campfire, under the stars of the Northern Thai jungle.

Day 1: Jungle Trek to the Elephants

8:00 - 9:00 AM – Breakfast

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast, taking in the peaceful morning atmosphere.

9:00 - 11:30 AM – Morning Trek with Elephants

Spend the morning trekking alongside the elephants as they explore the jungle. Join our experienced guides and mahouts as we walk into the jungle to find the elephants in their natural jungle environment. This hands-off experience allows you to observe them as they forage, socialise, and explore their surroundings, free from restraints!

11:30 - 12:30 PM – Lunch in the Jungle

Take a break and enjoy a delicious, locally prepared lunch, served to you in the middle of the jungle. All of our food is 100% vegetarian/vegan, and served on biodegradable banana leaves. Please let us know in advance if you have any other dietary requirements!

12:30 - 2:00 PM – Continue Trekking & Observing Elephants

After lunch, we continue to trek and find the rest of the herd. You’ll witness their interactions with each other and their environment, all from a respectful distance. Our guides will share insights into their behaviours and conservation efforts.

2:00 - 2:30 PM – Trek Back to the Viewing Platform

We’ll walk back through the jungle to the main platform.

2:30- 3:00 PM – Get Ready to Leave

The time has come to say goodbye to our new friend and home for the night - pack up and check out time.

3:00 - 6:00 PM – Drive Back to Chiang Mai

Enjoy the scenic ride back to Chiang Mai, reflecting on the incredible experiences of the past two days. We will drop you back off at your hotel!

Note: times may vary due to traffic, weather, or road conditions. If you have evening travel plans, please let us know in advance to ensure a timely return).

Meals - 4 meals are provided - lunch and dinner on day one and breakfast and lunch on day two. All of our food is 100% vegetarian or vegan. We can also cater to other dietary requirements, as long as guests let us know in advance. We also have free coffee and tea available at our accommodation.

Transportation - all transportation is included.

Insurance - all our guests are covered by our insurance.

Park and hike entrance fees - all Doi Inthanon national park and nature trails fees are included in the price - there are no extra hidden fees.

Drinking water - we provide bottled drinking water.

English speaking tour guide - all of our tour guides can speak English and are extremely knowledgeable of the local area and elephants.

Rain boots and jackets upon request - please let us know in advance if you need to borrow boots or a jacket!

Sunscreen, bug spray, appropriate clothing, etc.

Overnight items - please make sure you bring any overnight items that you may need, such as medication, toothbrush and toothpaste, etc.

OTHER INFORMATION

What to bring: Overnight items (medication, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.), hat, sunscreen, shoes appropriate for walking in the jungle, long trousers and top to protect yourself from insects in the jungle, camera, bug repellent, rain jacket for rainy season (May - October).

Trip operational months: we run all year round.

Fitness level: requires a moderate level of fitness, as the hike can be challenging depending on where the elephants are located on the day.

Age suitability: we would advise that children over the age of 7/8 should be fine to participate.
