Gili the elephant at Elephant Eco Trails

Gili

Born in 2017, Gili is the eldest daughter of Mae Boon Sri and one of the few elephants in the herd who has never been forced to work in the tourism industry. Born free in the jungle, she has grown up surrounded by family, nature, and the freedom to simply be an elephant.

Playful, curious, and full of character, Gili loves spending her days exploring the forest, foraging for bamboo, and splashing through mud pools with her best friend, Mae Buay. Despite her growing size, she’s famously afraid of chickens and isn’t too fond of cats either. Gentle and intelligent, Gili represents a new generation of elephants able to experience life the way it should be – wild, peaceful, and free!
