Plai Phusuk the elephant at Elephant Eco Trails

Plai Phusuk

Born around 2008 in Chiang Mai Province, Plai Phusuk spent much of his early life working away from the jungle he called home. After suffering a serious injury that caused him to lose one of his tusks, his future became uncertain. But in December 2021, Plai Phusuk was finally brought back to live peacefully alongside the herd here in the jungle, where he could begin adjusting to a calmer, more natural life.

At first, Plai Phusuk would often wander away as he slowly learned to feel safe and comfortable in his new surroundings. Over time, he settled beautifully into the herd and is now known for his calm, gentle nature. Friendly and easy-going, Plai Phusuk enjoys spending his days peacefully foraging through the jungle and happily eating almost anything he can find!
