Born in 1990, Mae Yui endured years in the tourism industry performing in elephant shows, from dancing and playing instruments to carrying tourists on her back for hours each day. Even while pregnant, she was forced to continue working, eventually giving birth to her daughter, Buay, in 2010 amidst the hardships of camp life.
In 2015, Mae Yui and Buay were finally brought back to the jungle, where they could begin a new life surrounded by freedom and care. Gentle, affectionate, and deeply devoted to her daughter, Mae Yui rarely lets Buay out of her sight. Today, this beautiful lady spends her days peacefully foraging through the forest, enjoying her favourite treats, and embracing the calm, natural life she was denied for so many years.
